Bodie, CA 2018

My friend Fernando, was the first person who told me about Bodie State Park and how it is an actual "ghost town" years ago after mentioning another wet plate photographer that went there. After a quick google search, I made up my mind that I wanted to go there. That was 4 years ago.
After my experience earlier this year with going to Monterey and learning more about taking photography in State Parks, I took a lot of time to think of the spots I wanted to go in Bodie and the surrounding areas because it is quite far from San Diego. At the end of August I took the first step of contacting the Bodie Foundation and asked questions about what facts I needed to know about taking photography and if there were any permits to acquired. The short answer was yes. After filling out forms and emails and phone calls I got my date reserved.
During my time in college, it wasn't really taught how to go about getting permits for photography. So I was glad to go through the process of phone calls and emails with the state park rangers.

Please enjoy this picture gallery of the tintypes I was able to make
