“Who am I? 24601”

Well, I can assure you that I’m not a prisoner of France in 1795 and that my name isn’t Jean Valjean.
As my first blog post I feel like it should be an introduction post. Who am I ? How I got started?, the whole sha-bang. And to  be as honest and straightforward as I can.
My name is Catherine Segura (but most of the time people call me Cat or Clementine) and I’m 20 years old and based in San Diego with my two parents and an older sister away at college.  The only pet I have in my life is my horse, Willie. He is my ultimate hero and someone I can talk to about anything.

I started doing photography in high school, I was taught to name all the parts on my dads Nikon F4 camera and how to load a roll of film. Develop it, enlarge it, and make a print. Then I got my first DSLR camera (a Nikon d3100) and learned the ropes on how to work and what settings to set, and started photography college classes right off the bat. I have been studying and practicing digital photography for a little of over 4 years.

 * In another blog post I will be explain my Wet Plate photography journey! *

What you will be seeing on my blogs and featured photos are personal projects and of course school projects. I find photography a medium of self-expression most of the times, and a way to let my imagination run wild with ideas and looks. Self-portraits are one of those things that I use for coping, dealing, and self-expression. So you may see my face a lot on my website or any other form of social media that I use. And I will always have a story behind each and every one of them.

Just like this one. Titled "Helping Hands"   To read the story on this one, just click the underline title!
Also you will see from time to time are the faces of my friends and my boyfriend. Who I always seem to torture taking his picture to model for me for some silly idea or project I want to accomplish. Forever grateful.

I can’t wait to write my heart away about the projects I did in the past and projects that I’m doing now and all the traveling experiences that I’m about to do.
