Day 2 for the Black and White Photo Challenge
Day 2 is upon us!
I wanted to start today with the begining of my trip to Italy. I took this photograph on the second day I was in Rome. The first afternoon there, coming off the plane, taxi ride from the airport, and then getting to the hotel I was dead tired. And so was the rest of my family. I'm a pretty cranky person when it comes to no sleep and 10 hour flights. Not to mention not having really eaten much since the food on the plane was not something I could eat. So the first day I spent in bed sleeping and watching a storm blow right through.
After waking up early in the morning the next day we all had reserved tickets to go into the Vatican Museum where we can go into the Sistine Chapel and to be able to see al the art works that are guarded there. For those who have traveled to Rome, you very well know that everything is protected by a great brick wall. And the line to go inside wraps around this wall.
Unfortunately, one of the first things I noticed were all the Gypsies in the street. I know poverty breaks everyones heart and I know as humans we all do what we can to help. I found this woman while waiting in line and took this photograph, (hoping to use it for the show I previously mentioned) and then immediately donated to her. I saw her there two more days after that. I assumed she moved on.
